Soundfusion (Pty) Ltd is intensely involved to reshape the community radio sector in South Africa.
Soundfusion conceptualized a satellite communication network, allowing information exchange and capture between stations and a central server.
Multicasting allows live events to be streamed to all stations and be broadcasted simultaneously. So far, 30 community radio stations are part of this network with pending installations to integrate all community radio stations countrywide.
In order to integrate this technology into stations, extensive technical upgrades were implemented.
As a first in the South African radio community, digital broadcast consoles by KLOTZ Germany were implemented throughout.
Digital playout systems by NETIA France are now in place, taking care of daily broadcasting as well as the interaction with the satellite network.Remote maintenance software allows diagnosis and service without being on location, reducing costs and time substantially.
A special audio foundation training course has been developed by Soundfusion (Pty) Ltd to empower technical staff at stations to maintain their broadcast chain at all times.
By maintaining professional broadcast standards without compromise, Soundfusion (Pty) Ltd raised the technical standard of community radios to be on par with those expected by commercial stations.
